We have had great success over the past few years in becoming one of the most subscribed societies at UPSU, which has now provided a great community for lovers of Anime, Manga, Cosplay, TCG and Japanese Culture. We meet every Thursday 6-8:45pm in Dennis sciama 2.14 to watch various anime episodes as voted for by our membership to include a “special guest”. In the past we have shown solid favourites in our society such as Clannad, Angel Beats!, Baccano and Eden of the East. Sound exciting? Join us today!

About Us
The Anime Society was first ratified in 2003, when our first President and committee began on their bright new venture to the unknown. As you can see we’re still standing today! We keep good relationships with all of our members new and old who remain friends of the society for life.

We host a number of socials throughout the year, and have specialised socials for Fresher’s and Christmas. We also have our bi-annual trip to London for the MCM Expo, which all our members are welcome to attend! Every meeting is also followed by a venture to the local pub for a great finish to your Thursday evening.

As well as the member steered Anime meetings, we have the facility of a Manga Library, which members can donate and borrow from at any time through the year. At the current time we have over 100 books to choose from and we are continuing to expand in 2017/18. We also keep good bonds with the wider community in Portsmouth, and as such our relationships allow us to offer special offers to all our members. Our current relationship with an anime memorabilia stockist allows for a unique discount for our society’s membership.
